Up’s and Down’s
It’s been over a week since I last posted. I guess I have been a little discouraged! That cheat day did a royal doozie on me! It has taken me almost 10 days to get back to consistent weight loss. I have been so faithful in taking HCG and, eating all that I am supposed to. I have been eating only approved foods as well. I have yo-yo’d up and down between about 5 pounds for the past 8 days or so. But I think I am finally on the losing streak I want to be on. I am down 18 pounds and I have 10 days left of my HCG. I had hoped to be more like 25 or 30 lbs down, but I need to be grateful for what I have lost.
I started to walk this week with a friend. I am actually really sore !! I didn’t think I was in that bad of shape… I guess I was wrong. It has been very enjoyable and we both are feeling the benefits. We have gone 3 days in a row and plan to go again tomorrow. I have lost .5 to 1 pound everyday this week. I think the amount of water I am drinking as well as the walking have contributed to that.
The other day I was so needing a meal that would help me to feel full and satisfied. So I got out some cabbage and onions and started to boil them in seasoned water. I grilled my 100 grams of chicken on my George Foreman grill, then waited for the cabbage soup to be just tender enough. I sliced up the chicken seasoned with garlic salt and curry powder, poured a bowl of the soup, and added the grilled chicken. It was so delicious! I had seasoned the veggies with a bit of chicken broth, garlic, and curry, with a touch of sea salt. It had great flavor and I ate every bite. It was nice and filling.
I have also been eating half of a grapefruit a few days a week. I really enjoy eating those. Another refreshing “treat” has been to slice up a lemon, squeeze all of the juice into a 32 ounce cup, fill it with ice and water and then add several drops of the Valencia Orange Stevia. It is very refreshing and thirst quenching. Often I will add water to it as I drink it and it goes even further. I also like to grill up a whole onion that I have sliced up into big chunks or rings. I salt it a little and then sqeeze a lime all over before and after I grill it. It is a great accompaniment to grilled fish, chicken or a steak. Lettuce wraps are another favorite too. Extra lean ground beef seasoned well and made in a frying pan with a little water. You can add onions or celery if you want. Take it off and roll it into a cup of iceberg lettuce. It’s very good.
I refer back to the HCG diet protocol here and there to make sure I am doing it all right. I also eat maybe 2 of the 4 Melba Toast that is okay to eat. Sometimes if I am feeling really hungry I will eat all 4 for a snack, but not super often.
I have 10 days to go and I feel good. I am looking forward to the maintainance part of the HCG diet because it allows for a twice as many calories and I can eat nuts and dairy!! I miss those things.
Lovin’ the HCG diet!!
I’ve hit the 20 day mark and I am officially down 14 lbs. It feels really good to have shed some of those unwanted pounds. I have actually really dealt well this time with my cravings and hunger. Like I have said before, the liquid B vitamins, the metabolizer and energy supplement make all of the difference in a day for me. I have also tried to mix up my meals a lot to avoid getting bored with the same foods. I try to eat fish, steak, chicken, and sometimes shrimp and switch them around so I am not eating the same meat twice in a day. I have to admit, I went off the diet for a day on Sunday and truly regret that choice!! I had a big dinner party that I was invited to and was worried if there would be anything for me to eat. So, instead of being smart and eating before I left, or bringing my own food, I just ate what was there, and dessert too!! Naughty me!! I so regret that choice because I got on the scale the next morning and I was 2 lbs heavier!! It has taken me 2 days to even get back to my weight before I cheated. If I really think about it, I could probably be up to 3 or 4 lbs lighter by now if I had just stuck to the diet. It’s not worth it to cheat! Some people have no problems taking bites here and there, but I really have been so careful and tried hard to stay with the plan that Dr. Simeons laid out in his book Pounds and Inches. I find myself thinking about when I start my maintainance plan. I know that is the key to re-set your hypothalmus in order to keep your weight-loss permanent. I am really enjoying eating more fresh and raw food. ( not the meat obviously!) It is definitely a lifestyle change that I hope will become permanent.
Feeling good at 10 lbs down!!!!
Its been 2 weeks tomorrow since I began my loading days, and 12 days of the actual diet. I got on the scale today and I am down exactly 10 pounds!! Things are starting to feel a little less snug and I am feeling a tiny bit thinner. The diet has had it’s ups and downs… I have definitely had some hungry days and moments when I wish I could just pig out! But I have been really good and and happy about my success. I really notice when I don’t take my vitamin B drops or my Metabolizer & appetite suppressant capsules. Both of those really help with my energy level. I need to go and buy some more teas. In the past when I did the hCG diet for the first time, drinking iced tea really helped me keep hydrated and also gave me the feeling of being more full when I would keep a bottle full of it all the time. As far as my menus, I have really been trying to mix it up so that I am not just eating a chicken breast for every meal. I know myself and I would totally burn out of I ate all of the same things all the time. I rotate between a tilapia fillet, top sirloin, chicken, shrimp and sometimes fat-free cottage cheese. I added some apples and cinnamon to my half-cup of cottage cheese and it was a tasty treat for me. Today I made a yummy soup with chicken broth I had already made, my 100 grams of chicken breast, and chopped up cabbage. It was soooo yummy and filling. I actually didn’t even drink all of the broth. I got the idea from the recipe guide I ordered from the HCG Diet Direct website. It teaches you how to make soup bases with a chicken broth to start with so I did that and just added the chicken and cabbage and some salt, cayenne and parsley. Tomorrow I will think of something new!! Yeah for me, 30 lbs to go!
One week today!
I am down 6.5 pounds today! Yeah! I woke up feeling achy all over today, though, so I am not really thrilled with that. Over the past few days, I have been around people eating chocolate, treats, goodies, candy and yummy looking food. But I am happy to report that I have not been overwhelmingly tempted like times I have dieted in the past. I have had a few afternoons where I felt really hungry, but that seems to be subsiding. I tried a different kind of natural flat bread that I thought would be just like a Melba Toast Round specified on the hCG diet plan, but I didn’t loose any weight the day I ate 2 of those! So I decided that if I want to really loose the weight I am panning to, then I will just stick to Dr. Simeons’ diet plan and not try to veer from it. I was actually at a health food market trying to find something I could eat for lunch! I ran across this whole grain flat bread with about the same ingredients as the Melba Toast. After I ate it, and looked a little further into it, I realized that it had sesame seeds all over the top and throughout it. I guess the oil content in it maybe threw my weight loss off a bit. I would just caution any of you who want to really loose the serious weight, to stick to what the guidelines are. I have felt really good other than today and I am really pleased with the progress I am making!
Results from my first day!
First weigh in after my 2 load days and first diet -day and I am down 1.5 pounds!! I am so happy. Yesterday went well, I didn’t ever really feel hungry. I woke up this morning feeling just a bit of hunger, but I drank about 32 ounces of cold water while my tea was steeping and I feel really good. I even went out for dinner last night with my husband and was able to order an hCG type salad that was not only yummy but went right along with what the diet suggests. I am excited about my first few days. In times past when I have tried the hCG diet, I was not as prepared mentally to tackle this kind of strict diet. But I think, as I have said before, that I was so “tired of being the fatty”. I actually find myself thinking about when clothes will feel better on me and when I will have more energy and stamina. Hopefully the pain in my hip will subside and the pains in my knees when I go down the stairs will stop too! Ready to face another day~!
First day of the diet!!
Well, my loading days went really well. I started out weighing 205.5 lbs. ( Way too much!) After two days of eating pretty much whatever sounded good and what I thought was high in fat, I gained 2 lbs. So today when I hopped on the scale, I topped out at 207.5. GAG! Anyway, It has been a good day today. I have been a little low energy this later afternoon but no hunger pangs whatsoever! I am so happy about that. I really had eaten a ton of chocolate, fast food, cupcakes, chips, ice cream, etc. So today I have only eaten some strawberries, a salad, and my 100 grams of grilled chicken. It feels good to eat healthier. All of that heavy food makes me feel just that, heavy!! The hCG diet is just a smart way to loose rapid weight. My husband looked at me a few days a go and asked me if I was ready to be 40 lbs lighter! I said “absolutely!” I have been trying to picture myself lighter and healthier. I actually have never been this heavy in my life except in the last weeks of pregnancy! That is so sad. But at least I am doing something about it and I am excited and ready. I will continue to chart my progress as I go along.
Loading begins tomorrow~!
I am so excited to start my loading days and get going on this great diet! I felt really good when I did hCG before and I am looking forward to that again. After the loading days when you literally eat yourself sick, it is a welcome break to begin eating not only less food, but lighter food. I am still trying to decide what I am going to eat over the next 48 hours! With the hCG diet, one must eat extremely high in fat foods the 48 hours before beginning the actual diet so that the hCG can properly draw out the fat stores in the body and begin burning the unwanted fat. I have heard many times that a person’s actual weight-loss success can really be determined by how well they load when they begin. I think I may have a Big Mac meal tomorrow? It actually sounds gross, but its super high in fat! I have a great source to purchase my hCG and I just got all of my supplies today! I am really excited.. Wish me well!
Preparing to begin the hCG diet
The trip was a great success! SO glad I was given the opportunity to go. I felt like I needed to be starting my hCG diet last week but loved being with family and friends. So this was supposed to be my week to begin loading, unfortunately, several things have stepped in the way again! So now I plan to load on the weekend and begin Monday or Tuesday. Even though I have the 40 Day supply of the liquid hCG, I am leaning toward doing the prescription injections of hCG instead. I have tried them once before, as I have stated in another post. But the issue was, I didn’t know the source I was getting it from, and I hadn’t been schooled in the proper injection method, and ended up developing a injection-site infection. This time, I have a doctor who will be tracking my progress, as well as, I am more highly aware what to do and how to properly administer the shots to myself. I have asked several people who have done this and they all agree that the best place to do it is right in the fleshy, fatty part of your stomach. I had never done this! I had only been injecting my thighs and so maybe that was the issue, who knows? I am really excited and truly feel like I have arrived at a more healthy emotional place to begin the hCG diet. One must be emotionally ready and committed to begin a strict eating regimen. I will go more into the emotional factors another time. I am excited to begin this great and healthy rapid weight -loss program! Palm Springs, here I come!!
Getting Ready to load
I had a surprise trip sprung on me a few days ago. I am really excited about it, but I had been planning to load this weekend and begin the diet on Monday, March 7th. Now that I am leaving the state tomorrow, I am having to bump the loading and start dates about 4 days. I thought about loading on my trip, but then I realized that I would have to stress about the liquid requirements that are in force for a carry-on! I don’t want to deal with that, especially since I ordered the 40-day supply of the liquid hCG and it is like a 4 oz. bottle! Wouldn’t that be a nightmare if I got up to the security and they took away my bottle of hCG? NOT gonna go there, so unfortunately, I will not be able to begin charting my progress until next week. I have actually found myself thinking about the things I am going to eat on my loading days!! That’s so sad! I guess I really need to do this program. I actually am looking forward to reshaping my body. The amazing thing that hCG does, is it takes that yucky, miserable, hard-to-get-off fat from areas like hips, thighs, arms, belly etc., and really slims and removes the stored fat. It’s been said to be almost like the results of a liposuction surgery. WOW! I really need something like that for my body right now. I will check in starting Monday and begin to track my loading and starting days. Can’t wait!
HCG.. Most Googled Health Query
According to Google, HCG Diet was the fastest rising health query in 2010; more than any other health query usually searched, according to the Google Zeitgeist. That is very interesting to me! Obviously this is all the rage right now and it really is a healthier way to go as opposed to many of the other diet crazes that have come out over the years. With the Atkins’ diet, you ate so much meat that people were having heart issues and clogged arteries! Many other diets require you to track points, buy their food, drink only liquids or shakes, eat low-fat, yet high in sugar foods that generally provide temporary results.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, obesity and being overweight are more prevalent than ever in the U.S. The agency estimates that one third of the population is obese, while another third qualifies as overweight.
The HCG diet’s popularity may stem from its reliance on fruits, vegetables and lean protein to provide daily nutrition, while the Homeopathic HCG hormone contributes to fat oxidation. It really makes your body think that you are feeding “two” so it frees up the stored body fat for consumption. I just love that concept! I actually have a nice offer for my readers…. if you click on HGC Diet Direct, and put in the coupon code: Special 10% you will receive 10% off of your whole order!! That’s a great savings, especially because of the quality of HCG you will be purchasing and the wonderful supplements they offer. You should have tremendous success, as so many before you have!! GO FOR IT!!!
